Mayankh’s Babri | Toronto Event Photographer

One of my favourite perks that comes with being a family and event photographer is being able to experience various cultural events and ceremonies. One such event was Mayankh’s Babri ceremony. Not having experienced a Babri ceremony in the past, I turned to google to educate and familiarize myself with this ceremony. A Babri ceremony is a Hindu ceremony during which a child gets their first haircut, typically after the child turns one year old.

Bhavesh and Sheetal’s Babri ceremony for their son Mayankh was initially planned to held at a Hindu temple with about 90 guests in attendance. The event had to be scaled down and moved to the family’s lovely home due to the first wave of COVID-19 restrictions coming into effect a few days before the event.

Mayankh’s Babri was a beautiful and intimate ceremony filled with meaningful traditions and a whole lot of love.

“We had chosen to Bibi capture our son’s first hair cut ceremony (it’s a big event in the Hindu religion). Bibi took phenomenal pictures and captured the event really well. He was able to tell a story which we will cherish for years to come. We would definitely have Bibi capture our family events in the future and highly recommend him to others. He says photography is his passion and  not his profession which clearly shows in his work. When you are passionate about something you put your heart and soul into it, which Bibi does. ”
